Dogs is important creatures.

We had a really close call with our dog the other week. He'd had another stroke and was in a really bad way. Buuut the medicine worked and he is fine! Well he won't completely recover but he is doing good for now, and he's his usual happy, tail wagging self! He will be 11 at the end of the month.

@kangel: are you aware that most dogs don´t live more than 15 years?
kangel July 29th, 2014, 4:39 pm
@MecanicalCH: yeah I know. For his breed (German Shepard/lab mix) they usually live about 10-12 years so hopefully he'll be around a while longer yet.

This is what happens with me and my kitten. Except I'm on the laptop and she falls asleep right next to me.

Pets are one of the best things a person can ask for.

Sorry to hear about your doggie, but great to know he's getting better!

That is the sweetest! One time I got really upset and was just sitting curled in the corner of my room crying. My kitty (who often doesn't like being petted that much so tends to avoid me) saw me and charged straight under my arms, rubbing against me. It was the sweetest thing ever.

I actually saw in a program once that dogs are actually alert to people in distress, showing them going over to a crying complete stranger over their owner, despite it being dangerous for them. In the same program, it also showed that petting an animal actually makes you feel considerably less stressed and actually has healthy benefits. It said that people who owned pets lived longer than people who had never had a pet.

Fun fact.
