I'd always heard of the word "crumpet" but never actually looked up what they were. They look delicious! Almost...English muffin-like, as least from the Wikipedia picture. Doesn't seem like they're the same thing, though.

@Alexx: They're not really bread, more like a savoury cake, spongy and kind of moist. It's kind of hard to describe them really lol, they're good though :D

@kangel: AGH that sounds awesome! I'll have to see if the import isle of the grocery store has any. I've already gotten into these things called Digestives in the same isle; I love that they bring some things over here and there.

I saw the same thing in the paper a few weeks ago! Shame I never got round to getting some of them. Crumpets are one of the greatest things ever, made only greater by being shaped into trees!

@Alexx: Wiki: "A crumpet is a griddle cake made from flour and yeast" I suppose it's similar to a pancake only smaller and toasted in a toaster instead of in a pan. The result? A soft, warm crumpet treat with melted butter seeping through its structure. The perfect morning snack.
