I'm sorry, all I can offer you is reassuring pats on the back or head and inappropriate jokes (and snacks if I have them). This is genuinely what I do when someone is upset. I'm so useless in people situations. I'm going to move to an island full of animals.
I was going to go to bed early as I'm really tired tonight but then decided to draw a comic then suddenly it's midnight.

Sometimes I accidently make it worse, so if someone is feeling sad I give a pat of comfort and then just avoid them. :P

"I'm not a people person! I'm barely a person!"

Man, I hate situations like this. No matter what I do, I always feel like I make it worse.

For example, one of my friends is in trouble at school. She has missed too many days due to illness, and she can't afford to miss anymore days. The administrators (or school nazis as I call them) are really cracking down hard on her, and her mom isn't helping either. The only real support she gets are from her friends.

One day, I decide to cheer her up by showing her some pictures on my iPad. Everything was going great; she was starting to cheer up... until she got to this picture: http://funnymama.com/store/120402/29896_v0_600x.jpg

Yeah... I'm an idiot. (-_-')

I laugh at it now, but back then it was awkward as hell. She's been getting along pretty well as of late, but she gives me funny looks whenever I have my iPad out. Frankly, I don't blame her. I'm one demented little demon-pup.

who knows why...but everytime i try to comfort someone...i end with him/her swearing revenge against me...*trows behind his back a flamethrower can...*

I'm actually very good at comforting people. I once talked a complete stranger out of suicide (online), and I've often been called a good listener who can help with people's problems.

I am the same way.
People are confusing.
That's why I try to stay away.

People have told me my advice makes things worse...So I just listen and nod now xDD

Queen of Comfort I'm so awkward I get stuck in that moment when you try to decide whether to touch them or not, so my hand just ends up hovering over their shoulder. ;_;

Emotions Yeah.... I just tend to start crying right along with them...Hey, least they arn't crying alone right? :P

I tend to feel that my advice is generic and/or weak, yet it seems to cheer people up, and people say I'm good at it... so IDK where I stand.

"all I can offer you is reassuring pats on the back or head and inappropriate ..."

I expected the next word to be 'places'.

The way I get people to cheer up (when I know they're down..) Is by making them laugh. I tell them jokes, tell them my funny day, make up funny story's, anything. Then once they laugh, I say; "There's that smile :)".....

Like what I do when people are insane and are convinced there's a cat on the page
